Adam Partridge, baritone
25-year-old baritone Adam Partridge is quickly weaving himself into the professional singing scene, being noticed for his silky timbre and commanding stage presence. He most recently performed the role of Prince Tarquinius in Britten’s The Rape of Lucretia at Rice University. Other prominent performances include the title roles in Tchaikovsky’s Eugene Onegin and Puccini’s Gianni Schicchi. In 2022, Mr. Partridge made his academic principal debut as Ottone in Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea. Mr. Partridge recently finished his second Summer as a Studio Artist with Wolf Trap Opera, covering Lieutenant Audebert in Silent Night and Brother in Seven Deadly Sins, as well as performing the roles of Benoit and Alcindoro in La Bohème. The summer prior, he covered Somnus and Cadmus in Handel’s Semele, as well as Masetto in Don Giovanni.
In Summer 2025, he will be joining Opera Theatre of St. Louis as a Gerdine Young Artist. In addition to opera, Mr. Partridge has been featured as a soloist in several orchestral works, including Britten’s Rejoice in the Lamb, Handel’s Messiah, Fauré’s Requiem, Mozart’s Grand Mass in C Minor, and Beethoven’s Symphony No. 9.
A newcomer to the competitive scene, Mr. Partridge has already begun to make waves in the Metropolitan Opera Eric and Dominique Laffont Competition, most recently winning the Connecticut District and moving forward to the New England Regional in 2025. Last season, he also won the Los Angeles District and secured a special encouragement award at the Western Regional. In 2020, he was named the winner of the Jeannie and Stephen Foster Voice Competition. Additionally, he was the first prize recipient in Stetson University’s Giffin Voice Competition.
Born and raised in Jacksonville, FL, Adam earned his Bachelor of Music in Vocal Performance from Stetson University, and graduated with his Master of Music in Opera Performance from Rice University.
