Thank you for joining us today at Chef Geoff’s DC! The City Choir of Washington is pleased to host this event bringing together our fabulous new artistic director Erin Freeman; our artistic director emeritus, Bob Shafer; City Choir singers, volunteers, and donors; Washington, D.C. arts leaders; and friends and supporters of Erin’s.

The season opens with Gioacchino Rossini’s grand Petite Messe Solennelle. This monumental piece, which pays homage to Palestrina, Bach, and Mozart, all while referencing the humor of Rossini’s comic operas, will highlight the voices of City Choir and the virutosity of keyboard artists Peter Uhlir, Karen Keating, and Todd Fickley. Featuring a stunning solo vocal quartet composed of 2022 Studio Artists from Wolf Trap Opera.

Learn more about our 2022/23 Season!

The four concerts of the 2022-2023 season, following in City Choir’s tradition of choral excellence and creative programming, feature themes of joy, peace, and light, works by more than 20 composers, and performances in four different venues around the Metropolitan D.C. area. Partnerships with D.C area organizations, composers, and soloists will highlight City Choir’s deep connections to the Washington, D.C. artistic scene.

About Erin Freeman

Artistic Director of the City Choir of Washington Erin Freeman serves in multiple capacities throughout the District of Columbia and the Commonwealth of Virginia, and maintains a national, international, and online presence through guest conducting and speaking engagements. Erin is Artistic Director of the City Choir of Washington, Artistic Director of Wintergreen Music, and Resident Conductor of the Richmond Ballet.
