Tiffany Choe, soprano

Korean-American soprano TIFFANY CHOE was born and raised in Southern California. A 2023-2024 Cafritz Young Artist at the Washington National Opera, she was most recently seen as the Flamingo in The Lion, Unicorn and Me and Juliette in the young artist performance of Romeo and Juliet at the Kennedy Center. In 2022-2023 she was a Arizona Opera Pullin Studio Artist, and she  performed Pamina in The Magic Flute, Najad (Ariadne auf Naxos) and Sister Margaretta (The Sound of Music).

Choe was seen with Indiana University (IU) Opera Theater as Mimì (La bohème) and Magda (La rondine). Having sung eleven productions with IU, her other roles include Susanna in The Marriage of Figaro, Constance in Dialogues des Carmélites, Rosalia in West Side Story, and Laoula in L’Étoile. A previous Steans Music Institute Fellow, she attended the institute as a fellow from 2019-2022. Last summer, she sang First Lady in Die Zauberflöte at Ravinia under the baton of Marin Alsop with the CSO. In recital, she was the soprano soloist for the Messiah with the Phoenix Symphony and Poulenc’s Gloria with the IU Philharmonic. She has earned several awards from the Metropolitan Opera Laffont Competition, including a Denver District win in 2024, a Western Region Encouragement Award in 2021, an Indianapolis District Win in 2020, and a Southeast Region Encouragement Award in 2019. She earned her BM, MM, and Performance Diploma from the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, earning the Georgina Joshi Fellowship in 2021 under the tutelage of Kevin and Heidi Grant Murphy
